The Super Bowl is no doubt the biggest sporting event of the year, spurring parties and other events that inspire even casual football fans to get into the spirit of the game.
For sports betting in Ohio, that means even more potential bettors, and more opportunity for Ohio sportsbooks to offer some added intrigue.
Even with thousands of new betting options in Ohio, sportsbooks are offering time-tested Super Bowl games to engage fans and bettors. Ohio sportsbooks like DraftKings, FanDuel and Caesars are offering new options that will feel simple and familiar to occasional bettors.
Still, the new options, like Super Bowl Squares and Bingo, are popular with experienced bettors, too.

How to play Super Bowl Squares in Ohio
Leading up to last year’s Super Bowl, Squares was the most popular bet at Caesars outside of spread, moneyline and total, according to Craig Mucklow, Caesars Sportsbook’s vice president of trading.
“The popularity for squares is head and shoulders above everything else,” Mucklow said. “It’s double the handle versus coin toss and 10 times more tickets as coin toss. It pays for people that want to bet a small dollar amount to try and get a big win. The average stake on this is $11.50.”
With a squares bet, bettors choose the final digit in each team’s score. A squares bet might look like Eagles 3 – Chiefs 0. With that bet, a player would win if the score was something like Eagles 33, Chiefs 20.
Since the most common scoring methods are touchdowns (7 pts) and field goals (3 pts), the scores often end with 7 and 3. However, the less common numbers have longer odds, which means a higher payout when they hit.
Adding to the fun of Super Bowl Squares, some sportsbooks offer the bet on each quarter. Sportsbook apps don’t have the exact same options available. Here’s how the bets are presented at Caesars Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook.
- Caesars Sportsbook‘s Super Bowl betting menu shows odds tables for First Half and Final Score.
- FanDuel offers Squares wagers on the First Quarter, First Half and Final Score.
- DraftKings offers an Any Quarter option and a separate Final Score option.
- Up to $1,000 Back as a Bonus Bet if Your Bet Loses

Play a square for free at DraftKings, BetRivers
Ohio sportsbook apps are offering various promotions leading up to Sunday’s game, looking to give bettors a reason to sign up with them.
DraftKings is offering a free square when you opt in to their Wrangler Squares promo. Winners will split the $57,000 in prize money put up for the promotion. There’s only one catch: Numbers will be assigned to the columns and rows at random before the game. Participants can’t choose their own numbers.
BetRivers Sportsbook is running a Squares promo that requires any $10 bet on the game to earn a square. Bettors can boost the odds of their square by placing a $5 Same Game Parlay bet. The boost gives bettors a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize. Earn another square by depositing at least $25 into your account.
FanDuel Super Bowl Bingo
FanDuel is also offering its take on the classic Bingo game. The FanDuel bingo card is populated with Super Bowl prop bets instead of numbers to be drawn.
The props are simply events that might occur during the game, such as an onside kick, a two point conversion or a pick-six.
FanDuel users can get their bingo card for free, and the app automatically marks the winning squares throughout the game. Every card gets a free space in the center.
Thousands of players will receive prizes in the form of site credit.
The top prize of $10,000 in site credit goes to the first player to connect five winning squares.
Make your own Super Bowl Bingo
Squares and bingo make for great additions to your Super Bowl party or at the office. FanDuel made a whole list of Super Bowl bingo events that can be used to make bingo cards.
For fans of the infamous Super Bowl commercials, FanDuel also published a printable list of Super Bowl sponsors that can be used. Players can make their own cards, with the companies in random order. When a commercial featuring one of the companies airs, players mark them on their cards.
For a Super Bowl Squares office or party pool, it’s best to have players select squares, then assign the numbers to the squares at random. You’ll have 100 squares to fill. Numbers 0, 3 and 7 have an advantage, so keeping the number assignment random keeps things fair.
You can download a handy blank grid to use. Players can put their initials in their chosen squares, then the numbers can be assigned. Use a pair of dice or online random number generator to number the columns and rows.
Will Super Bowl LVII break betting records in the U.S.?
Super Bowl LVII is expected to break U.S. gambling records. PlayUSA projects that legal sportsbooks across the United States could take in over $1.1 billion in in bets this Sunday. That sum would make this year’s game the most bet-on Super Bowl ever, and the most bet-on event from any U.S. sport.
According to PlayOhio, Ohio is set to rank among the biggest Super Bowl betting in the country. With an $82.6 million projection, Ohio is likely to rank fifth in the U.S. just six weeks into legal sports betting.
Of course, sportsbooks want to take advantage of an uptick in gambling activity. Last week, Caesars Sportsbook released a 22-page Super Bowl prop betting menu — their biggest slate ever. The menu lists odds for over 2,000 unique outcomes bettors can wager on.
