One of the biggest rivalry games in college football will be taking place on Saturday. The latest edition of Ohio State vs. Michigan will kick off on Nov. 26.
Even after a full plate of Thanksgiving football this week, fans from around the country will be tuning in for the action.
Ohio sports betting doesn’t begin until Jan. 1, 2023, so football fans around the state won’t be able to bet on the big game this year.
Despite that, it’s worth taking a look at how the gambling side of the game is shaping out. The rivalry bout and Ohio State betting in general will be a huge part of betting in Ohio next year, so it’s good to know what to expect.
Ohio State vs. Michigan betting odds
The matchup between the Buckeyes and the Wolverines will attract tons of gambling attention around the country.
Michigan currently leads the all-time series 59-51-6, and also won the most recent meeting between the two sides back in 2021.
Ohio State has been the favorite for this year’s game since sportsbooks first started posting odds over the summer. The Buckeyes are still the favorites heading into game week.

OSU vs. Michigan line movement and trends
Saturday’s game should be a competitive one. According to the latest AP Poll, Ohio State is the No. 2 ranked team in the entire country, with Michigan close by at No. 3.
The Buckeyes have been favored by at least a touchdown since sportsbooks first started posting odds. Some companies like BetMGM had Ohio State as high as -14.5 favorites.
That odds lead has trimmed down over the past handful of months with Michigan closing the gap.
Up until yesterday’s action, most sportsbooks had Ohio State as -7 favorites for the game.
At this point, the Buckeyes are sitting around the -9 mark at most sportsbooks. Michigan narrowly scraped by against unranked Illinois on Nov. 19. That likely played into the team’s odds taking a slight dip.
Despite that, the public is split on which team will end up winning the matchup. At least at Caesars Sportsbook, where plenty of fans have been betting on both sides.
Gamblers split on which team will win
Things are more or less even when it comes to spread betting on the game at Caesars. Michigan has snagged 55% of the spread tickets so far.
In other words, more fans are betting on Michigan to win than Ohio State.
Michigan might have more bets in its favor, but Ohio State is attracting a bigger handle. 56% of the money wagered so far has been placed on the Buckeyes to win the game.
It’s no surprise that fans are split so evenly for a big rivalry game like this. That’s especially true since both sides are considered to be more or less evenly matched.
Regardless of how the gambling side of things turns out, fans should be in for an exciting game on Nov. 26. Ohio State vs. Michigan is an annual tradition, so there’s plenty of action to look forward to next weekend.
