Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway is getting ready to unveil its Barstool Sportsbook space — just in time for March Madness.
Following a ribbon cutting event on Friday, March 10, Hollywood Gaming Dayton’s Barstool retail sportsbook area will open to the public on Sunday, March 12 at noon.
Ohio sports betting kicked off on Jan. 1, but the four retail Barstool sportsbook locations in the state have been rolled out as renovations to their parent company’s casino and racino spaces concluded.
Barstool Sportsbook at Hollywood Dayton to open Selection Sunday
Similar to the Barstool Sportsbook spaces at other Hollywood-branded properties in Ohio, Hollywood Gaming Dayton’s Barstool includes a full service bar, food service and a VIP area.
A press release from Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway says the new space “will offer the best viewing experience in the area with 35 TVs and a 34-foot wide jumbotron above the bar area.”
The opening day for Hollywood Gaming Dayton’s Barstool Sportsbook is also Selection Sunday, when the NCAA reveals the brackets for the 2023 men’s basketball tournament.
The Selection Sunday reveal show airs March 12 at 6 p.m. If you’re in the Dayton area and want to watch with some fellow fans, the many TVs in Hollywood Gaming Dayton’s Barstool area are certain to be showing it.
The first games of the 2023 NCAA tournament are just two days after Hollywood Dayton’s Barstool Sportsbook space opens. And those games will take place only about a 10-minute drive from the Dayton racino.
Dayton again hosting ‘First Four’ NCAA tournament games
University of Dayton Arena is the site of the First Four tournament games. The First Four games — held this year March 14-15 — feature two games between the four lowest-ranked teams in the field and two games between the four lowest-seeded “at-large” teams.
The winners of the First Four round move on to the 64-team brackets of the first round of the tourney.

Dayton racino third Ohio PENN property to open Barstool space
Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway will be the third Hollywood-branded property in Ohio to open a new Barstool Sportsbook restaurant/bar space.
PENN Entertainment owns all four Hollywood properties in Ohio. On Feb. 17, PENN announced it had fully completed its previously announced acquisition of Barstool Sports, Inc., which includes Barstool Sportsbook as well as the Barstool media empire.
All four of Hollywood’s Ohio locations began taking sports bets on Jan. 1, when legal sports betting launched statewide in Ohio. Patrons could place bets at the casinos/racinos under the Barstool banner as construction continued in each location on dedicated Barstool Sportsbook spaces with full food and bar service.
The Barstool Sportsbook bar/restaurant area at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Austintown (just outside of Youngstown) opened Feb. 10, while Hollywood Casino Columbus’ Barstool Sportsbook opened Feb. 11, the day before the Super Bowl.
Hollywood Casino Toledo recently gave a tour to a local Toledo television station of its new Barstool Sportsbook bar/restaurant space, saying it would be open to the public “soon.” But the Toledo casino has yet to announce an opening date for the Barstool Sportsbook space.
According to its website, Hollywood Casino Toledo’s Barstool Sportsbook & Restaurant will feature “over 10,000 square feet of action featuring 3 betting windows, 25 betting kiosks, 40-plus TVs and a 460 square foot Jumbotron.”
