Ohio Sports Betting College Football National Championship

The College Football National Championship game is set between the Georgia Bulldogs and TCU Horned Frogs. The game will take place at 7:30 p.m. EST at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

With Ohio sports betting finally here, Ohio sportsbooks are releasing betting specials and boosted odds for Ohio bettors interested in the matchup.

PlayOhio will update this article as additional CFP betting promotions are released.

DraftKings offering early College Football Playoff promo in Ohio

DraftKings Sportsbook Ohio was first to unveil its CFP promo in Ohio.

The “Natty Boost” offers bettors a 100% profit boost on the CFP National Championship game. It is a max $50 bet.

DraftKings users just need to opt in to the promotion on the home screen of the app. Then an option to use an available bonus will appear when creating a bet slip.

The 100% boosted odds apply to the payout of a winning bet. For instance, the TCU moneyline was +370 as of Jan. 3. The bonus will double the odds to +740. So a winning $50 bet on the TCU moneyline will be boosted from $235 to $420 (both payouts include the initial $50 stake).

Betting the point spreads or over/under will boost the odds from -110 to +181. Georgia started off as 13-point favorites, and the over/under on the game was 62.5 as of Jan. 3.

The profit boost includes single bets, same-game parlays and live bets. It may not be applied to traditional parlays.

DraftKings odds boost can add up

Parlays are difficult to hit, and they are accounting for significant amounts of sportsbook revenue across the U.S. So novice bettors are better off starting with more straightforward bets.

But the DraftKings odds boost can be applied to bets with big payouts. The sportsbook app currently offers a “Quick SGP” — a pre-made, three-leg same-game parlay — that includes the TCU moneyline, game total over 62.5 and the total points to end up an odd number. That payout is +1000, and the DraftKings odds boost will double that to +2000.

Doubling any payout is a boon for the bettor. For those looking to take a longer shot on the Georgia vs. TCU game, a boost like this can go an even longer way.

Bettors loading up on TCU at BetMGM

BetMGM Sportsbook Ohio currently has the College Football National Championship line set at Georgia -13.5.

Bettors have placed 78% of bets and 79% of handle on the Horned Frogs getting nearly a touchdown.

The over 62.5 bet is also popular: Bettors have placed 86% of bets and 90% of handle on the game total going over 62.5 points.

The current moneyline is Georgia -500 and TCU +375. Georgia was the favorite heading into the semifinals at +200, but TCU was the long shot of the group at +15,000 when lines opened.

More Ohio sports betting college football promotions on the way

Ohio sportsbooks released several Monday Night Football promotions for the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Buffalo Bills matchup. They’ll do the same for College Football National Championship promotions leading up to the game on Jan. 9.

The early days of sports betting in Ohio are ripe with bonus offers as sportsbooks look to attract new customers in a competitive market. Sportsbooks are following up their pre-launch promotions in Ohio with additional bonuses surrounding Ohio-specific sporting events and, of course, the biggest games of the year like the CFP National Championship.
