Bet365 Sportsbook on Jan. 11 formally announced its multi-year partnership with the Cleveland Guardians, including plans for a “Bet365 lounge” to be open during the team’s Guards Fest fan event on Jan. 21.
Ohio sports betting kicked off on Jan. 1, and Bet365 Sportsbook went live along with the first dozen or so Ohio online sportsbooks on New Year’s Day.
Bet365 expansion continues into Ohio
Bet365 Sportsbook Ohio is the official online sportsbook of the Cleveland Guardians, which means the team and sportsbook will partner on promotions.
Those attending the team’s fan fest at Huntington Convention Center this month will be able to see what’s ahead for both businesses in 2023.
The Guardians won the AL Central in 2022 and defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in the MLB playoffs before falling to the New York Yankees. They have since extended star shortstop Jose Ramirez as they look to win the division for a second-straight season in 2023.
Guards Fest will include a Bet365 lounge where fans over 21 can utilize the Bet365 app and receive exclusive promotions like bet boosts and giveaways.
“We can’t wait to engage with Guards fans at Guards Fest,” a Bet365 spokesperson said in a press release. “The Guardians are an elite franchise, with a passionate and loyal fanbase, and we’re excited to create fan-focused activations that give back to the faithful Cleveland baseball fans.”
Bet365, a UK-based online sports betting company, spent significant money to spread brand awareness and expand its reach in 2022. That appears to be continuing into 2023 as the sportsbook expands into its third state — Ohio joins New Jersey and Colorado as U.S. states where Bet365 is up and running. Bet365 is also taking steps to launch in Pennsylvania.
“We’re very excited to work with bet365 as our exclusive mobile sports betting partner and welcome them to the State of Ohio,” said Guardians Vice President of Corporate and Premium Partnerships Ted Baugh.
“There is a tremendous bond between our organization and bet365. With nearly 90 million customers registered worldwide, bet365 is one of the world’s leaders in online gambling and will provide our fans a trusted source to complement our organization’s success on and off the field.”
Bet365 sportsbook Ohio offers generous sign-up offers
The Bet365 sportsbook app will be available to anyone within the state’s borders. The company rolled out a $100 bet credit promo offer leading up to Ohio’s Jan. 1 launch.
Bet365’s ongoing bonus offer for new customers is even more generous: $200 in bet credits for those who sign up and deposit at least $10 and make a bet of $1 or greater. Any winnings from the bet credits are immediately withdrawable.
Bet365 offers many of the most popular features of online sportsbooks, including:
- Same-game parlays, early cash-out options, and an “edit bet” function
- Bet boosts and same-game parlay boosts
- Early payouts on bets including MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL and NCAA basketball
- Live streaming on over 780,000 events
- Live-in game props on major sporting events
Guardians partner with Bet365 online, Fanatics for retail
Fans inside Progressive Field will be able to use the Bet365 app from their seats, of course. But the team has partnered with another sportsbook, Fanatics, on its brick-and-mortar sportsbook. (It is common for pro teams to partner with separate sportsbooks for online and retail.)
Plans have not been released for the retail location, which could be located inside Progressive Field. According to MLB rules, ticketed fans are not allowed to enter the sportsbook from the stadium, however.
Like the Cincinnati Reds’ Hard Rock Sportsbook, bettors will have to enter the Fanatics Sportsbook separately.
