The Cleveland Cavaliers Partner With Caesars For A Sportsbook In Ohio

A New partnership with Caesars and the Cleveland Cavaliers will bring sportsbook to Ohio

In preparation for legal sports betting in Ohio, Caesars Entertainment has entered into a multi-year partnership with the Cavaliers.

Included in the partnership is a planned retail sportsbook in the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Caesars Sportsbook will be a ‘first-class venue’

Plans for the 10,355-square-foot sports betting venue are in the works and construction will be underway soon.

The Caesars sportsbook will reportedly be in the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse inside the northwest atrium. It will be accessed at street level near the Ontario Street and Huron Road intersection.

No renderings of the Caesars sportsbook design have been released yet, but the plans include:

  • VIP lounge
  • Full-service bar
  • A vast dining menu
  • Wall-to-wall television screens
  • Betting windows for cash wagers

The construction project will be paid for entirely by the Cleveland Cavaliers and Caesars Entertainment. Once completed, the venue will be open year-round, and not just on event days.

Caesars Digital Co-President Chris Holdren said:

“Caesars Sportsbook at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse will be a first-class venue, providing an exciting atmosphere for sports betting and more.”

Passionate Cavaliers fans will lead to Caesars Sportsbook success

Holdren is confident that the Cleveland Cavaliers’ interactive and zealous fan base will ensure the success of the FieldHouse sportsbook.

“This wide-ranging partnership enables us to connect with the Cavs’ passionate and highly engaged fanbase.”

Players won’t need event tickets to participate in the gambling action inside the Caesars Sportsbook at the FieldHouse. The hope is that the venue will serve as a destination of its own for Cavs fans.

FieldHouse location is the second NBA arena sportsbook for Caesars

This isn’t the first Caesars Sportsbook to open in an official NBA arena. Before the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse agreement, Caesars opened their sportsbook at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C.

Debuting last October, the D.C. sportsbook was the very first to be opened in a professional sports arena. The Capital One Arena is home to the NBA’s Washington Wizards as well as the Georgetown Hoyas and the Washington Capitals.

Caesars is planning to open a third sportsbook at a professional arena soon by partnering with the Arizona Diamondbacks. That sportsbook will be located in Phoenix’s Chase Field.

Holdren continued:

“We’re ready to welcome Ohio sports fans into the Caesars Sportsbook Empire, while also making history with our second sportsbook at an NBA arena.”

FieldHouse sportsbook is building on Ohio’s existing relationship with Caesars

Caesars Entertainment is now the “Official Casino Partner” of the Cavaliers. The Caesars Sportsbook will be their “Official Sports Betting Partner.”

The gambling giant already has a hand in the Ohio casino industry with properties in Columbus and Toledo. The partnership with the Cavs can only stand to strengthen their contributions to the state’s gambling scene.

Holdren stated:

“Building upon our already established roots with Scioto Downs in Columbus, we’re excited to announce our partnership with the Cavaliers at an exciting time in their franchise’s history.”

Caesars online sportsbook and Rewards offer benefits to customers

The Caesars Rewards program leads the industry in gaming customer loyalty. With the Caesars brand on the FieldHouse sportsbook, patrons can receive Caesars Rewards benefits when they visit.

Benefits include earning Tier and Rewards Credits at the new sportsbook and other properties in Caesars’ portfolio.

At the FieldHouse sportsbook, rewards members will receive VIP experiences and a range of hospitality assets.

In addition, Ohio residents will benefit from the Caesars mobile sportsbook when sports betting launches in the state. Sports fans will be able to download the app and place bets from anywhere in Ohio.

Sports betting in Ohio to launch as early as the end of the year

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed legislation back in December of 2021, which legalized sports betting in the state.

Legal sports betting in Ohio is anticipated to debut Jan. 1, 2023. However, the hope of stakeholders is that it will launch even sooner. They hope it will be in full swing by the end of 2022.

Caesars Sportsbook will open by the end of the year.
