Betr sportsbook is up and running in Ohio with its new soft launch phase

One of the more unique sports betting apps is finally available in Ohio. Betr, an app that specializes in micro-betting, is now up and running in the Buckeye State.

Betr opened for business in Ohio on Jan. 1, which was the first day of legal betting in the state.

Despite that, the company is only in its soft launch phase for the first few days of Ohio sports betting. The app isn’t fully functional yet, but that will be changing sooner than later.

Betr focuses on micro-betting

Betr’s co-founders are entrepreneur Joey Levy and social media star-turned-boxer Jake Paul. The app is a brand-new sports betting product that focuses on micro-betting. Live betting is another term for micro-betting.

If you’re new to the sports betting world, then no worries. Micro-betting is just placing your sports bets as the game is happening, rather than getting bets in before the game starts.

Sportsbooks have had a hard time perfecting the micro-betting product, but that’s the niche that Betr Sportsbook Ohio hopes will help it stand out from the pack.

The app is currently in its soft launch phase and hopes to open its complete range of services in the coming days.

No deposits or withdrawals yet for Betr users

Ohio residents can download the Betr app now, but not all of its features are available yet.

Betr is in its soft launch phase in Ohio, meaning that the company is still testing out its product. For the time being, sports bettors in Ohio are not able to make deposits or withdrawals from the app.

However, Betr is still hoping that Ohio residents will download and sign up for the app during its early stages.

Betr is offering a free $100 bonus in Ohio so that gamblers can place their first bets and help the company test its systems. Users won’t be able to withdrawal any money they win from placing bets with that bonus offer until Betr moves out of its soft launch phase.

That could be disappointing for some users, but at the very least, Ohio residents have the chance to try out the company’s micro-betting product. Betr is the only sports betting app that focuses specifically on micro-betting, so that could be enough to entice Ohio residents that are looking for something unique.

Sportsbook marketing blitz in Ohio

It’s common for sportsbooks to flood the air waves with advertisements when a new state legalizes sports betting. Betr certainly hasn’t been sitting out when it comes to the marketing side of its business.

The app has been marketing itself aggressively on social media ever since sports betting began in Ohio. That’s no surprise given that Jake Paul is a co-founder of the app.

It started with Betr’s twitter account posting a video of Marco Piemonte placing the app’s very first bet on Jan. 1.

Million Dollar Marco” has made waves on social media in the past for his massive spending habits. Betting tens of thousands of dollars on games makes for viral videos, and occasionally leads to seven-figure payouts from parlay betting.

Between Paul and Piemonte, Betr has had a large presence on social media since the app launched in Ohio.

It’s a similar approach that Barstool Sportsbook has taken in the past. Media personalities betting on games, reacting to the outcomes and sharing the entire process on social media. The two apps are likely going after much of the same target audience.

Things have only ramped up since the sportsbook’s first bet.

Betr even brought a company-branded RV to tailgate at Monday Night Football’s Cincinnati Bengals game this week. The company knows that it doesn’t have the same level of brand recognition as some of its competitors, so it hasn’t been shy when it comes to thinking of new ways to spread the word about its product.

New product beat its competition to launch

Ohio is already home to all sorts of different online sports betting apps. All of the biggest companies from around the country are open and taking bets.

However, the Buckeye State will also be home to several brand-new sports betting apps, including Betr. Ohio will be the first state in which many of these new sportsbooks will take bets.

Betr beat the rest of its new competition to market in Ohio, which is impressive considering how new the company is.

Fanatics Sportsbook and Underdog Sportsbook are two examples of brand-new betting apps that missed the launch day of Ohio sports betting. Both apps will eventually be the sports betting wings of larger companies.

Even an app like Bally Bet, which is already taking bets in other states across the country, still wasn’t as quick to make its Ohio debut as Betr was.

Getting in from the ground floor could help Betr come out of the gate quickly in Ohio. Even if the app is only in its soft launch phase, gamblers still get to test out the product.

There’s no way to know for sure if micro-betting will take off in the U.S., but Betr’s performance in Ohio could serve as a test case for the rest of the country.
