Best prop bets for sports bettors and Bengals fans around the nation

Super Bowl fever has taken over Ohio.

The Cincinnati Bengals will face the Los Angeles Rams Sunday in Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

And while SoFi may be home to the Rams in the regular season, they better watch out for Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

The sportsbook odds list the Bengals as 4.5-point underdogs and the over/under total for the game at 48 or 48.5, but the Bengals have been underdogs before.

Cincinnati has never won a Lombardi Trophy as the champions of the NFL. The Rams won just one Super Bowl title.

The Super Bowl brings football fans together like nothing else. So. Much. Guacamole. It’s also a chance for the nation’s legal sportsbooks to shine.

They put up the traditional lines on the point spread but also include a bevy of unique ‘prop,’ or proposition bets. These prop bets range from an individual player’s performance to the length of the national anthem.

They’re just another way for you to get in on the fun of Super Bowl Sunday. Here’s a look at some of the best prop bets for Bengals fans.

Coin toss and Scorigami

There are odds on the coin toss at Caesars and Barstool sportsbooks. Caesars Sportsbook lists the odds on the coin flip at exactly +100 per side (literally a flip of the coin). Barstool has the odds at -103 for each side.

Super Fact: Tails has come up in 29 of the previous Super Bowl coin flips. So heads is due, right?

Another somewhat wacky bet by Barstool is whether the final score will be a so-called “Scorigami.” What is Scorigami?

A unique NFL football final score that has never happened in a game. Think like 72 to 5. Odds on a Scorigami Super Bowl posted by Barstool are +1400 to happen and -5000 to not.

Passing fancy

Joe Burrow, the Ohio native and LSU product has been masterful during this playoff run. There are lots of different ways to bet on his talented arm.

Caesars has the over/under pegged for passing yards for Burrow at 275.5, his interceptions at 0.5, and his completions at 24.5.

Super Fact: This season, Burrow has thrown for over 275.5 yards nine times. He has 11 games with at least one interception and has completed 25 or more passes seven times.

Another Burrow prop bet that’s interesting is his rushing yards. Caesars has Burrow down for 11.5 yards Sunday. He’s no runner, but with the Rams’ strong pass rush, could he run for a few more Sundays?

Super Fact: Burrow has only rushed for over 11.5 yards three times this season.

Skill props

A couple of other rushing totals on the Caesars book are unique. Bengals star running back Joe Mixon has an over/under total of 62.5, while star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is at 4.5 yards. Wait, a wide receiver running the ball?

Super Fact: Mixon has gone over the 62.5-yard mark 10 times this season, but only twice in the last eight games as Burrow has thrown the ball more. As far as Chase, he’s only carried the ball seven times all season, but four times he’s gone over four yards. One quick reverse to Chase could get him over on Sunday.

Both Chase and Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins are much better known for catching the ball. Both have over/under figures at 5.5 with Chase’s over/under for yards at 78.5 and Higgins at 68.5.

Super Fact: The magic number is eight. Chase went over 78.5 yards this season eight times. Higgins went over 68.5 yards eight times.

Same thing for the number of catches: Chase caught six or more balls this season eight times, so did Higgins.

Special specials

The Bengals wouldn’t be here at all without star kicker Evan McPherson. He drilled game-winners for the Bengals in both the AFC Championship Game and AFC Divisional Round Game.

Caesars lists the over/under on the number of points by McPherson Sunday as 7.5.

Super Fact: 7.5? That sounds kind of low. McPherson has gone over that number 13 times in 20 games this season.

Now you’re getting defensive

Oh yeah, there are player prop bets for defensive players too. Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson has been a factor since returning from an injury.

His tackle total is listed as 8.5, while stud safety Vonn Bell is projected at 5.5 tackles Sunday.

Super Fact: Wilson has gone over 8.5 tackles in all three Bengal playoff games. Bell has gone over his posted number 11 times.

Put the fun in prop

Will Joe Burrow’s first pass be incomplete or complete? The odds are +170 for incomplete and -200 for complete.

You can find just about anything as a prop bet in the Super Bowl.

Barstool has a number on whether any of the extra points or field goal tries will hit an upright. Doink. It’s +405 for yes, -590 for no.

Will the game go to overtime? Only one Super Bowl ever has. Yes is +1000 at Barstool. Finally, Barstool has odds on when the final play will be before or after 10:15 p.m. Eastern time.

Whenever the final play is, you can bet a lot of people will have had a great time.
