Claiming your MaximBet welcome bonus
Claim your MaximBet Ohio welcome bonus is pretty easy. Start by registering a new account on the MaximBet sports betting app. Then make a deposit. Only your first deposit is matched, so if you want to claim the full $1,000 bonus, you will need to deposit at least $1,000. MaximBet will then match that deposit 100% with bet credits.
OK, so you’ve claimed your MaximBet Sportsbook bonus now, what to do with the betting credits you’ve been given?
Releasing and using your MaximBet bet credits
Your bet credits hit your account within three days, but chances are it will be near instantaneous. And once you have them you can start using them. In fact, since you only have seven days to use them before they expire, we suggest making sure there are events you want to bet on in the next week before making a deposit. The worst thing would be to make a deposit during a bye week for the Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns or Ohio State Buckeyes and not being able to use your MaximBet credits on your favorite team.
You always can see how many spendable MaximBet bet credits you have by clicking on “My Account” and then seeing what the number is on the “Free Bet Credits” line.
Wagering credits is just as easy. Merely make a bet selection, then in your MaximBet Ohio betslip you’ll scroll to the bottom and click on the box labeled “Use Bet Credit.” If you do not have enough credits to cover the full bet amount, the remaining funds will be taken from your cash balance. Bet credits cannot be used on MaximBet boosted odds wagers or on bets with odds shorter than -200. This includes parlays with any individual wager of -200 or less.
You should be aware that you will not receive the value of free bet credit back on winning bets. You only are given the actual winnings associated with any wagers using bet credits.
MaximBet Sportsbook credits expire
Your MaximBet credits expire seven days after being issued, so be sure to wager them before that time.
MaximBet welcome bonus playthrough requirement
OK, until now, everything about the MaximBet online sportsbook welcome bonus has been news; this part is admittedly a little bit of a downer. To withdraw any winnings from your bet credit, you must play through your deposit + bet credits five times. While this sounds like a 5x playthrough condition, it’s more like a 10x requirement. Here’s why:
Let’s say you want to claim the full $1,000 MaximBet welcome bonus. That means your deposit is $1,000, and you get $1,000 in bet credits. MaximBet Ohio adds those two numbers together ($2,000) and then multiples that number by 5. This means you have to wager $10,000 before any of the winnings from your credits can be withdrawn. The one nice thing is there is not a deadline for when you have to meet the playthrough requirement. It’s simply tied to when you want to withdraw MaximBet winnings. So at least you won’t be forced to make $10,000 in bets in a 30-day window.
How does MaximBet’s deposit bonus compare to other Ohio sportsbooks?
Overall, the MaximBet deposit welcome bonus is one of the better offers you’ll find in the Buckeye State. The total value of $1,000 is on par with other top sportsbook apps like FanDuel and BetMGM. But the biggest difference is you’re actually getting that money on top of what you deposit. At BetMGM and FanDuel, you only get a bonus if you lose your opening bet.
Is MaximBet Sportsbook legit?
Yes, MaximBet would not launch in Ohio until it was a licensed and regulated sportsbook. Before launching in Ohio, MaximBet Sportsbook debuted in Colorado.
Ohio sports betting rules and regulations to know
You will need to be 21 years of age or older to bet on the MaximBet Sportsbook app in Ohio. You will not be able to get around this age requirement because MaximBet will confirm your identity when you get registered.
While you do not need to live in Ohio, you do need to be physically in the state when you place a bet or cash out a bet early. MaximBet is able to enforce this requirement by using geolocation services to track your whereabouts when you are logged into the app or website. Assuming you are within Ohio state limits, your wagers will be processed just like normal; if you are outside the state though your bets will not be accepted.
Signing up at MaximBet Ohio
You need to be at least 21 years of age to open a sportsbook account with MaximBet. And while you need to be in Ohio to place bets, you don’t need to be in the state to open your account. All you need to do is use this link to take you to MaximBet’s sign-up page where you’ll be required to enter the following information:
- First and last name
- Home address
- Phone number
- Last four digits of SSN
As you might expect you also need to create a password and check a few boxes. The boxes certify that you have read MaximBet’s terms and conditions and that you are 21 or older. Once the form is submitted, your MaximBet Sportsbook account will be up and running.
The MaximBet sports betting app
While you can use the MaximBet desktop site to do all your sports wagering and account management, we suggest giving the MaximBet app a try. It makes betting on your smartphone/tablet even easier, and it’s free.
MaximBet Ohio iOS app
- Go to the MaximBet Sportsbook website on your phone or tablet
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the button labeled “Download on the App Store”
- This will open the Apple App Store to the MaximBet Sportsbook Ohio installation page. Click “Get” and the app will be installed onto your iOS device.
MaximBet Ohio Android app
Currently, MaximBet does not have an Android app. While this definitely is disappointing, it’s not as big of a deal as you might think. That’s because the MaximBet Sportsbook website works just as well on mobile devices as it does on laptop and desktop computers.
Once MaximBet does release an Android app, you’ll be able to download in much the same was as you can the iOS sports betting app.
As with most online sportsbooks, MaximBet Ohio has various promotional offers to choose from throughout the year. You can see all the current offers by clicking “Promotions” which is located at the top of the screen. We suggest checking the MaximBet promos page a couple of times a week at a minimum to guarantee you don’t miss out on any bonus offers.
MaximBet Sportsbook parlay booster
While MaximBet originally ran a promo known as Parlay Party when it launched in Colorado, it is no longer offering it. Parlay Party allowed you to win bet credits if your parlay bets of between four and seven legs were successful. We are interested in seeing if MaximBet brings back this promotion to Ohio sports bettors.
Daily odds boosts on the MaximBet Ohio app
You’ll see a button near the top of the page labeled “Odds Boosts,” Clicking it will show you the current bets with increased odds. One of the nice things about odds boosts at MaximBet is that you are shown both the boosted odds and previous odds. Many sportsbooks don’t show the previous odds, so it’s hard to tell how good of a deal you’re getting. The max wager for most odds boosts is $50.
Reasons to choose the MaximBet sportsbook app
With so many great sportsbooks to choose from in Ohio it can be tough figuring out which ones to join. And that’s even if you’re planning on having more than one account. To make it easier we put together this list of the top three features that MaximBet has to offer.
- 24/7 customer support: Nothing is worse than running into problems with something and calling the help line or trying to have a live chat with a representative only to find out the customer service department is closed. Thankfully that won’t happen with MaximBet since their customer support staff is on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Solid welcome bonus: Honestly, a good welcome bonus is sometimes all it takes to persuade us to sign up with an online sportsbook. It can allow you the chance to make some bets, get the feel for the company and not have to risk a ton of your own money in the process.
- Quality daily odds boosts: We also really enjoy excellent odds boosts, which MaximBet has to offer each and every day. Not only are there a decent amount of offerings, but they range from small underdogs to pretty big long-shots, which you don’t often see from online sportsbooks. All in all, the boosted bets at MaximBet are some of the best we’ve seen.
Things we’d change about the MaximBet app
While there are a lot of great features and benefits at MaximBet Sportsbook Ohio, you’ll also encounter a few drawbacks we believe you should be aware of.
- Misleading promos: Most of the promos we have come across at MaximBet are really good. The problem is that even some of the quality offers are actually pretty misleading. More than a couple times we’ve found promotions at MaximBet that don’t make it clear in the main description that your bet needs to lose in order to receive the stated bonus. While we understand that most promotions are going to involve some fine print, details like your bet needing to fail to be eligible should be mentioned much, much higher up.
- No rewards clubs: It’s disappointing that MaximBet does not have a rewards club at this time. We are cautiously optimistic that when the rebrand from SportsBetting.com to MaximBet is fully completed it will include the addition of a loyalty club.
- Undersized live wagering markets: If live betting is not your thing, then you don’t have to worry about this at all. However, if you plan on betting on events in real time often, then this could end up being a deal breaker for you. That’s because MaximBet doesn’t have anywhere near as many in-play betting markets as competitors like DraftKings, BetMGM and FanDuel.
Betting markets at MaximBet
You will discover that MaximBet has all the typical sports betting options that you would expect from any reputable, licensed oddsmaker. Of course there are moneylines, spreads, over/unders and prop bets. You also will find futures markets and live betting options. And it wouldn’t be a sportsbook if you couldn’t build multi-wagers like parlay and round robin bets.
This is an example of how games are displayed at MaximBet and it is followed by answers to how each bet type works, which can come in very handy if you’re new to sports wagering.
|Columbus Blue Jackets||+1.5 (-126)||+158||Over 6.5 (-110)|
|Detroit Red Wings||-1.5 (+105)||-188||Under 6-5 (-110)|
What does the moneyline mean?
The money line tells you how much money you’ll win if the team you bet on wins. In this instance, the Red Wings are slightly favored to win against the Blue Jackets. You can tell this because favored teams are listed in negative figures, while underdogs are listed in positive figures.
The odds themselves are pretty easy to grasp once you understand what they mean. Case in point, Columbus’ moneyline odds of +158 represents that you will win $158 if you place a $100 bet on the Blue Jackets. Detroit’s odds of -188 means you are required to bet $188 in order to make a profit of $100.
What does +1.5 spread mean?
Spreads are used to even the playing field so to speak. A spread of +1.5 means that when a game ends that team will have 1.5 goals (or points or runs) added on to its total. As you would expect, a spread of -1.5 then means 1.5 will be removed from that team’s score. Once the simple addition/subtraction is complete if the team you bet on is ahead, your spread bet wins.
Which spread bet would win if the Red Wings win 4-3? Answer: The Blue Jackets, but after adding 1.5 goals to Columbus’ score the new score would be Blue Jackets 4.5, Red Wings 4.
What is a total bet?
A total bet is a wager you placed for how many points will be tallied by both teams in a game. MaximBet sets the total, 6.5 in this case, and you simply wager as to whether over or under that many goals will be scored.
In the previous section we used the example of Detroit winning 4-3. If that was the case, over bets will win since 7 is more than 6.5.
How does a prop bet work?
Each prop bet works slightly differently, based on what the actual bet is, but overall they are simply bets on whether or not a specific outcome will happen during a competition. During this game you could place a prop on a player to score a goal, on the game to go to overtime or on which period will be the highest scoring.
Prop betting markets continue to grow in popularity and in the number of markets available. The bigger and more popular the game, the more betting options you can expect to find at MaximBet sports betting, with none bigger than Super Bowl prop bets.
How do futures bets work?
Futures bets work like any other wager, you place your bet if you’re right you win. The difference here is that futures are wagers you place on outcomes that might not even happen for months and months. In July, for instance, you could place a bet on who will win the Super Bowl seven months from now.
At MaximBet you also can place futures bets on players to lead their respective leagues in statistical categories or to win season-long awards.
What is a multi-bet?
A multi-wager is a bet in which you take two bets or more and join them together to receive increased gambling odds. The two types of multi-bets offered at MaximBet are parlays and round robins.
Parlays require making a minimum of two picks, but no matter how many selections you make each and every one of them needs to be correct for your parlay bet to win.
Round robins on the other hand require selecting at least three bets, but you do not have to get each and every pick right to win. You will win the most money possible though if all your round robins selections are correct though. These multi-bets simply leave at least one wager out of each selection making it so that one miss does not destroy your entire bet.
What is a live bet?
A live bet refers to any wager you place on a sporting event that has already begun. Before online sportsbooks like MaximBet, once games started you could no longer wager on them. But now you can place tons of bets on games in real time.
With in-play betting you will notice that odds change extremely rapidly and sometimes by large amounts. For this reason you do not want to hesitate when you see a market you want to bet on, wait too long and the odds could change and not necessarily in your favor.
Betting on the Ohio State Buckeyes at MaximBet
Yes, you can bet on the Ohio State Buckeyes at MaximBet online sportsbook in Ohio. In some states, like New Jersey, for example, you are not allowed to bet on any events involving NJ-based NCAA teams or even on any NCAA events being held in the Garden State. However, in other states like Colorado and Pennsylvania, you are allowed to bet on the college teams from each state. And fortunately for Ohio sports bettors, that is the model Ohio lawmakers choose to follow.
There are restrictions on the types of bets you can make on college teams. For instance, it’s not uncommon for states to ban live betting or prop betting for the in-state NCAA squads.
We are still awaiting the final word for what exactly you’ll be able to bet on when it comes to Buckeyes odds for NCAAB or NCAAF games at MaximBet or any other authorized sportsbook in Ohio. Once a decision is made, we will share the news with you immediately.
Banking at MaximBet
To be honest, the options available at this time for depositing and withdrawing funds from MaximBet are not the greatest. That shouldn’t necessarily be a detriment to signing up with MaximBet though. As long as you’re comfortable using Skrill or Mazooma to make withdrawals you should be set in that department. And both those choices, as well as Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards can be used to make deposits.
Depositing on the MaximBet Sportsbook app in Ohio
Currently, you can deposit with MaximBet in one of three ways. All three require deposits of at least $10 and you should see the money land in your MaximBet Ohio account instantly. These are your choices:
- Credit or debit card (Mastercard and Visa accepted)
- Mazooma (used for online bank transfers)
Withdrawing on the MaximBet Sportsbook app in Ohio
Your choices for withdrawing your MaximBet winnings are pretty much the same, only the credit and debit card option is gone. Here’s how you can cash out on the MaximBet mobile app:
MaximBet customer support
One of the areas where MaximBet really excels is in its customer support. By clicking the “24×7 Chat” button you can live chat with a customer service agent 24 hours a day.
When you click the chat button, in addition to having the option of chatting with an agent, you will be able to request a phone call back or simply send a message and then await a response. If you’re interested in trying to troubleshoot the problem yourself you also can simply check out the “FAQ” page at MaximBet and see if a solution to your complication always exists.
Responsible gaming options at MaximBet Ohio
In addition to being able to exclude yourself from MaximBet Sportsbook Ohio, you have the option of setting limits for yourself. Here’s a look at how to do both.
Start by signing into your MaximBet account. Next, select the person icon to see your account’s settings. Then choose “Limits & Responsible Gaming.” Doing so opens a window with these options:
- Deposit limits: Choose to control the amount of money you can deposit at MaximBet each day, week or month.
- Wager limits: Limit the amount you can bet during a day, week or month. The smallest limit is what will be enforced. For example, let’s say you have a $100 limit per day and $500 per week. If you’ve bet $450 this week, you will only be allowed to bet $50 the following day as opposed to your daily limit of $100.
- Time limits: Here you can restrict how much time, in hours, you can be logged into the MaximBet mobile app and website each day.
- Play break: This option lets you shut down your account for 24 hours or one, two, three, four, five or six weeks. While you cannot wager during this time, you are allowed to log in and withdraw funds.
- Self-exclusion: Choosing to self exclude means you will be closing your MaximBet Sportsbook account for a period of six months or one, two or three years. As soon as you choose the option you will be logged out and whatever money you have in your account will be refunded to you.

In-person better at MaximBet Sportsbook
Currently, there are no plans to open a retail MaximBet Sportsbook in Ohio. If this changes, we will bring you all the details at PlayOhio.com.
MaximBet Sportsbook vs. other Ohio online sports betting apps
While MaximBet is a completely competent online sportsbook, it is not one of those in the running for best sportsbook in Ohio status, at least not as of yet. The fact of the matter is MaximBet is a little late getting started when compared with sportsbook stalwarts like DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel, Caesars and PointsBet Sportsbook.
That is not to say you shouldn’t sign up with MaximBet because we believe it can be smart to have multiple sports betting accounts. This strategy allows you to take advantage of the promotional offers at different books and also choose the best lines for all your bets. And as MaximBet continues to grow, there is no reason it can’t become one of the premier online operators in Ohio.
You won’t need a MaximBet promo code to claim the sign-up bonus. Sign up with MaximBet Ohio today using our links and your first deposit will be matched 100% for up to $1,000. The bonus comes as free bet credits that can be used immediately. Check out the MaximBet welcome bonus section to learn precisely how this bonus works in Ohio.
Nope, you can withdraw funds using Mazooma, which allows for online bank transfers, or Skrill and you are never charged withdrawal fees in the process. Both methods take between one to five days to process your request.
That depends on what you’re most comfortable with. You can deposit using a credit or debit card (Visa and MasterCard accepted), Mazooma or Skrill. Each option will see your funds be deposited almost instantly, so simply use whichever method you prefer.
No, you are not allowed to have more than one MaximBet Sportsbook account. There are no exceptions and you could end up losing your MaximBet account if you are caught trying to have multiple accounts. This is the case with all licensed Ohio sportsbooks.
It will be denied. When you go to make a bet on the MaximBet iOS or Android app or via the MaximBet website, geolocation technologies will track your location. If you are found to be outside the state of Ohio your bets will not be accepted. As soon as you are back within state limits you will be allowed to place whatever bets you want.
Yes, MaximBet and FanDuel are licensed online sportsbooks in Ohio and both are worthy of your business. However, the promotions offered at FanDuel provide a better value than those offered at MaximBet. Additionally, FanDuel does have more betting options, such as single-game parlays and larger prop betting markets, than you will find at MaximBet Sportsbook.
